This has been happening all over Asia for a couple of years, excited to see the 2D real-time scan and shop happening stateside. Scannable storefronts might be more of a marketing stunt than a true commerce play but interesting to see it all unfold. Check out this implementation from Jonathan Adler and eBay via Ad Week. Passersby can simply whip out their smartphone, open their eBay app and scan away to shop curbside. Fun...yes. Gonna drive demand? Not so sure. Depends entirely on user experience, product and pricepoint. Hopefully the have some unique value happening within the product sphere. We also hope they'll share some results post-implementation.
